We are embarking on a vital medical mission to Central Luzon, specifically in the province of Pampanga, a region rich in cultural diversity and marked by its resilience in the face of natural disasters. 

This region was once home to various indigenous tribes and was profoundly affected by the catastrophic eruption of Mount Pinatubo. While significant aid efforts and international organizations provided relief in the past, many have moved on, leaving the local communities to fend for themselves. Moreover, recent restrictions on public movement have further marginalized access to healthcare, with some residents having gone without medical attention for as long as six to twelve months.

Our forthcoming medical mission aims to address the pressing healthcare needs of the local population, particularly in the context of the ongoing public health emergency caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. We will be focusing our efforts in three key villages: Sapang Bato in Porac, the Madapdap resettlement area in Mabalacat, and Bulaon in San Fernando, all within the province of Pampanga.

The primary objectives of this mission are as follows:

• General and Pediatric Medical Consultations: Our medical team will provide comprehensive healthcare assessments and consultations to address a wide range of medical concerns.

• Medicine and Vitamin Distribution: Those in need will receive prescribed medications and essential vitamins free of charge to support their ongoing healthcare.

• Women’s Health Services: We will offer specialized services to address the unique healthcare needs of women in the community.

• Gastroenterology Check-ups: Screening and consultations for gastrointestinal health issues will be available.

• Optometry Consultations and Free Eyeglasses: Residents requiring vision correction will have access to eye examinations and free eyeglasses.

• Cleft Lip and Cleft Palate Surgeries: Complex surgical procedures for cleft lip and cleft palate will be performed at the provincial hospital center in the city of San Fernando, specifically at the Jose Lingad Medical Center. A dedicated team of three surgeons and anesthesiologists will lead these operations, supported by local medical practitioners who will provide pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients.

Transportation and Lodging
The medical and dental mission will be conducted as a caravan where a team of doctors and volunteers will be traveling from Angeles to Mabalacat then to Magalang, while the surgical mission will be happening in San Fernando on the last day. Transportation from the airport to the team’s first stop and between municipalities will be arranged and provided by TOM International. There will be an hour and a half hike to the Haduan Aeta Village on the first day – bring comfortable hiking shoes. Hotel accommodations will also be arranged and provided by TOM International.
